We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Continuity Manager to help lead our team in ensuring uninterrupted operations in the face of unforeseen challenges and disruptions. As a vital pillar in the business continuity organization, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our resilience and maintaining the highest level of preparedness.

 

Zions Bancorporation is accepting applications for a Business Continuity Manager to join the team.  The position will be in the Zions footprint and offers a 4/1 hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Role will help shape the strategic program direction and provide support for the design, implementation, and maturation of a comprehensive Business Continuity program for Zions Bancorporation.
  • Ideal candidate will help implement a robust framework to ensure consistent program execution across the enterprise, and to support regulatory compliance and risk management responsibilities.
  • Communicate and oversee the implementation of business continuity program strategy, methodology and objectives for business impact analysis, risk assessment, plan development and maintenance, testing, reviews, and training consistent with regulatory expectations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of BC policies, standards, and procedures as part of the overall governance framework to ensure that the program is implemented in accordance with internal policies and standards, and that regulatory expectations for control, monitoring and reporting of risk are satisfied.
  • Drive execution and governance of Business Continuity program consistent with policy and regulatory guidance while driving synergies across the internal and external team.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive business continuity plans, ensuring all critical functions and processes are accounted for. Your strategic approach will be crucial in mitigating potential risks and minimizing the impact of any disruptions.
  • Establish a robust metric and reporting framework to communicate program status, performance, compliance, recovery gaps, risks and other issues to Zions leadership as necessary. Support the development and preparation of management reports and presentations as necessary.
  • Lead risk assessment exercises, identifying vulnerabilities and potential threats to our banking operations. Through these assessments, you will develop actionable insights to bolster our readiness and prioritize areas for improvement.
  • Organize and execute regular testing and validation of business continuity plans to verify their effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement. Your analytical skills will play a crucial role in interpreting test results and fine-tuning strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments, including IT, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Compliance, to ensure alignment and seamless integration of business continuity plans. Your ability to foster a culture of preparedness will be instrumental in fostering a unified approach to resilience.
  • Work with management to support training and development of junior staff to drive program execution against objectives.
  • Assist with 2LOD, 3LOD and regulatory engagements.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in business continuity management within the banking industry. You'll ensure our bank complies with all regulatory requirements and adopts cutting-edge methodologies to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree or professional certifications in Business Continuity Management would be advantageous.
  • 6+ year experience in business continuity planning, emergency and incident planning and analysis, concepts and methodology.
  • Proven experience as a Business Continuity Manager in the financial services industry, with a track record of successfully implementing and managing continuity plans.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications. 
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, crisis management protocols, and regulatory requirements specific to the banking sector.
  • Knowledge of banking operations a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of business continuity planning, emergency and incident planning, analysis, concepts, methodology and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and articulate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical and problem-solving prowess, with the capacity to think critically and adapt strategies to evolving circumstances.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to upholding confidentiality and data security.

 

 

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $108,000 to $132,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.
